Fire damages hangars at Hooks Airport
HOUSTON
Around 2:45am Saturday morning, an off-duty sheriff's deputy called in that a couple of hangars at the airport were on fire. Several fire departments and a Hazmat crew arrived on the scene. They found two hangars with at least one aircraft and engine parts burning.
To get a water supply, firefighters set down a hose line.
"We had several pumpers in line to help boost pressure, and also we had multiple towers working off that so managing the water was a critical element to this," said Dist. Chief Doug Wilson, Klein Volunteer Fire Dept.
One firefighter was treated for minor injuries on the scene.
