Five people went to the hospital, including three young children, after a driver swerved to miss a dog and lost control. The driver spotted the dog around midnight at Mansfield and Duoto. The car went off the road and hit two brick mail boxes and then smashed into a concrete culvert. Two adults were in the front seat and three children were in the back seat.

A nine-month-old baby, who was in a child seat, has minor injuries. A three-year old and a five-year old weren't wearing seat belts and suffered serious injuries.

Houston firefighters had to revive the three-year old, who is in critical condition. Houston police say they don't believe alcohol was involved.
