Teacher accused in student beating due in court

HOUSTON Jamie's House Charter School teacher Sheri Lynn Davis faces felony charges for injury of a child. Last month, Davis was fired after cell phone video surfaced showing a 15-year-old student being hit repeatedly. Yesterday, the child's grandmother and other parents from the school came to the teacher's defense.

"Miss Ollie has helped me for two years with Isaiah and Alisa at Jamie's House without their mother and it's just hard for me to see it go down like that for a pay day," said Isaiah's grandmother, Theresa Reagins

The school's superintended, principal and another teacher also face charges stemming from the incident. Principal David Jones pleaded not guilty Tuesday. Superintendent Ollie Hilliard and teacher Gabriel Moseley will be in court on Monday.
