Homeowner helps nab arson suspect

HARRIS COUNTY, TX It happened around 11:30pm in the 400 block of Antelope Drive. Investigators with the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office say a homeowner was on his porch when his dogs alerted him that something was wrong.

When that homeowner went to investigate, he saw a man he identified as an ex-roommate, Jeremiah Kellar, running from the side of his home. The homeowner was able to catch up to Kellar, and hold him until police arrived.

Kellar was apparently able to get away again, but Harris County deputies tracked him down a few blocks away.

Kellar was charged with arson to a habitation and booked into the Harris County Jail.
