Police in Rowlett say a judge found slain at her home apparently was shot and killed by her husband, who then took his own life. Police on Monday identified the pair as 52-year-old Belinda Loveland, who was an attorney and a juvenile court judge for the Dallas-area city, and 59-year-old Richard Loveland.

Police around 5 p.m. Sunday received an emergency call from Dustin Loveland, who said he had received a text message from his father saying that he had killed his mother.

Officers who entered the couple's residence discovered the two bodies. Police say it appears that Richard Loveland shot his spouse, then turned the gun on himself.

The deaths remains under investigation.

Rowlett is a city of 56,000, located 15 miles northeast of Dallas.
