Firefighters busy battling different fires

Firefighters battled heavy flames at a vacant home in southeast Houston Friday night and now arson detectives are investigating. The fire started on Sagecreek and Sagedowne around 9:30pm The flames started in an attached room at the back of the home. Firefighters made a fast attack and got the fire under control before it destroyed the entire house. The room where the fire started burned to the ground.

No one was home during the fire, and there were no injuries.

A little later, neighbors reported a suspicious house fire in north Harris County. This one started just after 1am off Coltwood and Sorrel Ridge. The Ponderosa Fire Department put out the flames at the one-story house, which was also vacant.

Neighbors say they saw kids running from the home just before the fire began. No one was hurt. The cause of this fire is being investigated.
