No one injured during 80-mile chase

HOUSTON The chase started with an alleged carjacking at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Wilcrest. A security guard heard a woman screaming in the parking lot, and when he ran to the car, he saw the man was trying to carjack the woman.

The guard pulled the woman out of the car, and the suspect sped off.

A Harris County Pct. 5 deputy started following the suspect and later, three Houston Police Department squad cars started pursuing the suspect.

The chase continued until the suspect made it to Chambers County, where the sheriff's department set up spikes to stop the suspect outside of Winnie, Texas. However, the suspect pulled over at the 815 mile marker before reaching the spikes.

No injuries or accidents were caused during the chase.
