Dogs maul Ohio man, killing him with 100s of bites

OBERLIN, OH The Lorain County Sheriff's office says 30-year-old Michael Winters was found by his father in a pool of blood early Tuesday afternoon in their driveway in New Russia Township, 35 miles southwest of Cleveland.

Coroner Paul Matus says as many as nine dogs left hundreds of bite wounds that caused extensive bleeding.

The mostly large dogs were of various mixes. Deputies say two were shot when they approached officers aggressively and seven others were euthanized.

The coroner says the dogs may have developed a pack mentality, which can lead to an attack. Their remains will be tested for diseases, including rabies.
