Woman found dead under mattress may have known killer

TEXAS CITY, TX Police confirmed that 83-year-old Jean Britt was beaten and strangled. Relatives found her body in her home in the 200 block of Southeast Road on Monday afternoon. Britt hadn't been seen since Friday. Her burned car was later found in Dickinson.

Texas City police don't have any suspects or motive for the murder. They did say there were no signs of a break-in.
