Discriminated legal resident in Sugar Land settles suit
SUGAR LAND, TX
As part of the settlement, the Justice Department says Aquatico
Pool Management in Sugar Land, a Houston suburb, will pay Anthony
Ernest Gobran, an immigrant from Sudan, about $1,600 in penalties
and back pay.
The company will also train its hiring employees on
their responsibilities under the anti-discrimination provisions of
the Immigration and Nationality Act, implement a policy that
prohibits discrimination on the basis of citizenship and national
origin, and file reports to the Justice Department for three years.
