A pool management company that rescinded an employment offer to a legal immigrant settled a federal discrimination lawsuit. As part of the settlement, the Justice Department says Aquatico Pool Management in Sugar Land, a Houston suburb, will pay Anthony Ernest Gobran, an immigrant from Sudan, about $1,600 in penalties and back pay.

The company will also train its hiring employees on their responsibilities under the anti-discrimination provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act, implement a policy that prohibits discrimination on the basis of citizenship and national origin, and file reports to the Justice Department for three years.
