HISD offers free summer meals to children

HOUSTON The Houston Independent School District's "Free Summer Meals" program begins today. It's open to all children who live in Houston. There is no paperwork involved and no registration is needed. A child does not have to be enrolled in summer school to receive a free meal.

Children up to 18 years old can stop by a participating school from 7:30am to 8:30am weekday mornings for breakfast and from 10:30am to 12:30pm for lunch.

The meals will be offered Monday through Friday, beginning on Monday, June 7, and will continue through Friday, July 2.

Check out the list of participating schools.
