Three people found dead in home

HOUSTON

It is known as a quiet street, but it had one house where fighting is commonplace and police often were called. But on Friday, they were called on a triple murder.

Richard Glenn Harris, 48, is from Colorado. He had a few domestic disturbance charges to his name but he's never before connected to murder.

"He has many times threatened to kill them," said Janice Moon, the sister of one of the victims. "And now he finally succeeded."

On Friday afternoon, the bodies of three people, including two sisters, were found inside the house. One of the sisters is Harris' ex-girlfriend. A man who also lived at the home also was killed. All three had been stabbed and beaten. One sister was killed in her bedroom, the other found in the kitchen. The body of Billy Blessing was found near the front door.

A neighbor was leaving for work around sunrise when he says Harris walked over, asked for some money and confessed.

"He walked me over to the door, he opened up the door and said, 'You ready for this?'" said neighbor Terry Gray.

He called police anonymously, reporting trouble that needed to be checked out. A unit left without going inside.

His wife finally went inside the house, saw the bodies and called police again. By then, Harris had already left.

"We believe it might have happened late last night or early morning," HPD Homicide's Dan Arnold said. "And Mr. Harris was probably here for some time before he fled, and he may be in the immediate area."

Around 2pm Friday, Harris is said to have robbed a pharmacy at knifepoint. He left his driver's license at the store, telling the clerk "so police could know who he is," detectives said.

Who he is now to authorities is a wanted man.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest, and no one wants him caught more than three families.

Harris is now charged with three counts of capital murder because they were multiple slayings.

Harris is described as being about 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He is clean shaven. An earlier photo of Harris with facial hair was distributed by police.

Police say Harris is believed to be driving a 1991 white, four-door Honda Accord with Texas license plate numbers SBT-397. He may be in the Clear Lake area, or he may be on his way back to Colorado.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Harris is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
