Serial robber on crime spree sought

HOUSTON The suspect is described only as a black male in his 30s, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 250 to 280 pounds and with a heavy build. He sometimes wears sunglasses during the robberies.

A second male, a person of interest, is also being sought for questioning in this case. He is described only as a black male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, bald, and 170 to 190 pounds.

The incidents occurred at the following locations:

  • April 24 -- Radio Shack -- 11163 Fondren Road
  • May 1 -- Family Dollar -- 8707 West Bellfort
  • May 4 -- Family Dollar -- 12550 Fondren Road
  • May 4 -- Texas Title & Payday Loan -- 8690 West Bellfort
  • May 4 -- GNC -- 9730 Fondren Road
  • May 7 -- Family Dollar -- 9819 Bissonnet
  • May 7 -- CVS Pharmacy - 8550 West Airport Blvd.
  • May 10 -- Dollar General -- 11550 South Wilcrest
  • May 11 -- Walgreen's -- 12611 South Gessner Drive
  • May 14 -- Sally Beauty Supply -- 8230 South Gessner
  • May 22 -- Family Dollar -- 11253 Fondren Road
In almost every incident, the second male entered the store a few minutes prior to the suspect robbing the store, purchased an item and then exited the store. Investigators believe the male gave the suspect the layout and position of the employees.

In the most recent incident at the Family Dollar, the suspect approached the register and placed several articles of clothing on the counter. The suspect then pressed his shirt against his waist band showing the outline of a gun and told the cashier to empty the register. The cashier placed the money inside a bag and gave it to the suspect who fled the scene.
