Two die in Oklahoma plane crash

COLLINSVILLE, OK Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown said the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. Saturday near Airman Acres Airport. Brown says the plane took off and a short time later witnesses heard an engine stall.

Brown says it appeared the pilot tried to land on the dirt airstrip at Airman Acres, but the plane crashed in a nearby field and caught fire. He says a man and a woman died in the crash but their identities have not yet been released.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane was an RV-4. The manufacturer's Web site says that plane is constructed from a kit.

Airman Acres is about 15 miles north of Tulsa.
