The mother made the discovery when she returned to her Katy-area home from work around 7pm. Deputies say when she walked through the front door of her home on Copper Creek Drive near Peek Road, she found her son dead with stab wounds to his neck and head.
Investigators say it appears that a struggle occurred inside the home. The discovery left many neighbors in disbelief.
"It's kinda scary, I mean, to think something like this would happen in my neighborhood," resident Joey Rodriguez said.
Investigators say while a motive right now remains unclear, around 3 or 4pm Friday, neighbors did report a suspicious vehicle circling the neighborhood. However, police say a forced entry did not take place.
