Free music, ice cream on Free Stuff Friday

HOUSTON Check out Discovery Green for several free events this weekend. First, tomorrow at noon, the Kinder Morgan Wildlife Habitat team will be having their second annual bird festival. There will be learning activities and projects for people of all ages to do at the park.

Discovery Green is also hosting the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association for its final May festival. Festivities start at noon and end at 8pm. There will be a children's area, acrobatic stunts, music and dancing performances.

Then Sunday at Discovery Green, enjoy live jazz music at the park from 3-5pm with the Sebastian Whittaker Trio. This is part of Sundays at the Park music series.

If you would rather go indoors with the kids, Lowes has a free clinic tomorrow from 10-11am. Your kids can build a free catapult. You'll have to sign up online at Lowes Build and Grow.

If you need to cool down, head over to Wal-Mart for a free ice cream sundae or frozen yogurt this Saturday from 11am to 4pm. You can even add your own toppings, such as chocolate syrup or fresh strawberries. The offer is good while supplies last.

If you are looking for a free date night tonight or tomorrow, check out the Houston Grand Opera's free presentation of Tosca. The performance starts at 8pm at the Miller Outdoor Theater and ends at 10:30pm. Critics are calling the Houston Grand Opera's performance an absolute triumph.

Chick-Fil-A is giving away free spicy chicken sandwiches from May 31 until June 5. There is a catch. You will have to sign up online and make your reservation to get a coupon. Reservation space is limited so log on now.
