Three members of the Texas Mexican Mafia accused of helping the gang commit nearly two dozen murders have been convicted. A federal jury in San Antonio on Thursday found former Texas Mexican Mafia general Jacinto Navajar and two lieutenants guilty of conspiracy. Federal agents arrested 34 members of the gang in 2008, but these three were the only ones who went to trial.

The other members pleaded guilty. Prosecutors pinned six murders on Jose "Bam Bam" Martinez and two on Mike Garcia.

Federal prosecutors say they were hit men who killed others for cooperating with police or undermining the gang.

All three face life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for August.
