Firefighters want to know what caused a fire in a downtown Houston YMCA building. The fire broke out at about 1:40pm at the YMCA building on Louisiana at Peace. According to YMCA spokesperson Anne Herlocher, the fire started in a living area on the ninth floor, where rooms are rented out. There are currently about 135 people living in the building.

Herlocher says microwaves are allowed in the rooms but there are no stoves, and smoking is not permitted. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.

Everyone was evacuated safely, and no one was injured.
