Police have arrested one suspect while another suspect remains on the loose in the fatal shooting of a man in northeast Houston. The suspect, Diamond Markee Godfrey, 18, is charged with capital murder in the shooting of a semi driver on April 30. Robert Butler, Sr., 57, suffered a gunshot wound to the face and died at Ben Taub General Hospital on May 2.

Police say Butler was parking a tractor-trailer when he was approached by two unknown black males and then shot in the face at 5400 Bennington about 10:30pm.

Further investigation developed Godfrey as the shooter and one of the two suspects in this case. Godfrey was arrested Wednesday by Louisiana State Police in Ville Platte, Louisiana, and is awaiting extradition back to Texas.

A second possible suspect, Damion Mann, 19, is wanted as a person of interest in this incident. He is not charged at this time. Mann is described as a black male, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs about 180 pounds and has short black hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Damion Mann is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
