Ex-attorney accused of dealing drugs arrested again
HOUSTON
Shawn Roberts already was scheduled to be in court Monday for the start of his trial on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance.
On Sunday, he was charged with another count of delivery of a controlled substance, followed by charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a dangerous drug.
Roberts' trial revolves around the death of his first girlfriend. She drowned after he allegedly injected her with heroin.
In September, a Grand Jury decided it would indict Roberts on a drug delivery charge instead of murder.
Roberts was out on bond, but prosecutors sought to revoke it after his current girlfriend overdosed and died in April.
