Suspects arrested in Huffman ISD theft

HOUSTON Investigators say a man spent $4,156 at a local lumber yard after he allegedly stole someone's identity and wrote a counterfeit check from one of Huffman ISD's bank accounts. It was one of several purchases that were made using various stolen identities.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Department now say three suspects have been charged. Richard Kerns, 49, and Crystal Tullis have both been taken into custody. Crystal's brother Carl Wayne Tullis, 31, has been charged but is still at large.

Investigators say Crystal was found with a laptop which contained Huffman ISD checks and 50 to 60 names of people who had their identities stolen.
