The driver of the truck that struck the pedestrian remains on the scene and has agreed to a blood alcohol test. Police say at this point, it just looks like a tragic accident.
Fatal accident shuts down Highway 288 southbound
HOUSTON It happened around 11am near Almeda-Genoa. Houston police tell us witnesses say the now-deceased man had been jumping in and out of traffic prior to being struck by a pickup truck. The victim died on the scene. Right now, we don't know why the victim was out of his vehicle, which was apparently parked on the shoulder.
