HOUSTON --Parts of two freeways are closed as police investigate a deadly accident involving a motorcycle. The accident happened just after 7pm Saturday where the Southwest Freeway and Highway 288 split. A couple on a motorcycle was getting onto the entrance ramp of Highway 288 when they lost control, struck a guard rail and flew off of the highway, police said. The man driving the motorcycle was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died. A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition. Police currently have no evidence of alcohol being involved in the accident, but they still are investigating.
