Ex-deputy appears in court on sex allegations

HOUSTON A judge ordered /*Paul Briones*/ to stay away from the female inmate making the allegations. The woman claims she and Briones had consensual sexual relations in exchange for preferential treatment while Briones worked at the Harris County Jail. His defense attorney says the allegations are simply not true.

Lisa Andrews Defense Attorney "My client vehemently denies the allegations," insisted defense attorney Lisa Andrews. "He has a long, very good service career with the sheriff's department. Many people in this courthouse know and love Paul and support him."

Briones retired from the sheriff's department back in January.
