Detectives need help identifying two suspects wanted in connection to the murder of an off-duty security guard in southwest Houston last month.

Manuel Rangel Aguirre, 47, was shot and killed on March 15 in the 8000 block of South Gessner, according to a Houston Police Department statement. Aguirre was trying to get into his car when he was approached by two men who started the fight that ended with his death.

Detectives believe the suspects may have taken Aguirre's gun during the struggle because they couldn't find it at the scene, according to the statement. The suspects took off in either a silver or gray Nissan Altima or Maxima.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic males in his 30's with short black hair and thin mustaches.

The first suspect is about 5 feet 7 inches and has an average build. He also walks with a limp. The second on is about 5 feet 10 inches and has a slim build. He was last seen wearing a gold chain.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
