Mentally challenged man arrested for trying to steal fire truck

HOUSTON It happened around 1am Sunday morning at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in northeast Houston. Authorities say a mentally challenged man jumped into the truck while it was parked at the emergency room and running. When the man tried to take off, he ended up backing into a wood pole and concrete sign.

The man was arrested. The truck only had minor damage.

The hospital is under construction and the road to the ER is narrow and difficult to navigate for drivers.
