Police: Thieves on crime spree arrested

HOUSTON Authorities say three men and two women mugged people on the Houston Community College campus and then robbed a Jack in the Box. Police responding to the original calls for help at HCC were quickly flagged to the fast food restaurant on Fannin and Wheeler.

Employees there say the robbers got in through a back door that was propped open. They were armed with a bat and a gun, and at least one worker says she begged for her life when one of the men held a gun to her head.

Police were able to set up a perimeter and caught all the suspects within minutes.

Herman Nugent, 20, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Kevin Harris, 22, also charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the robbery. A third suspect, Bobby Sander-Carter, 22, has been charged with misdemeanor evading detection on foot.
