Houston has 2nd largest population jump in US

New government figures show the Houston area saw the second biggest population jump in the country, second only to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Census estimates show, from July 2008 to July 2009, the Dallas metroplex increased in population by more than 146,000 people to just under 6.4 million. The Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area's population went up by more than 140,000 to 5.86 million people.

The Austin-Round Rock area had the 12th largest population increase, and San Antonio came in 16th.
