Man arrested in road rage incident

ROSENBERG, TX On Thursday, March 11, officers arrested Theodore Baines, 49 of Rosenberg, for aggravated assault and unlawful carry of a fire arm after a road rage incident.

Police received a call that a man waved a handgun at motorists while driving along Highway 59 northbound and exited at FM 2218. An officer spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at a nearby gas station. Police say officers located two open bottles of alcohol and two loaded firearms in Baines' brown Ford F-150.

Police say Baines told officers that he did not wave a firearm but waved his hand (while thumb and fore finger were in an L shape) as to say don't do that, after having been cut-off by another motorist.

Baines was arrested without incident. He's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carry of a firearm.

Baines was arrested and taken to the Rosenberg City Jail and was later transferred to the Fort Bend County Jail.
