Fog played role in deadly accident

HOUSTON The accident happened around 1am on the Northwest Freeway near Cypress Rosehill. That's when police say a black Kia was stopped in the left-hand lane for an unknown reason. A Chevy Silverado traveling in the left lane couldn't see the stopped car, and hit it from behind. The truck flipped over and the car ended up on the feeder road.

"The driver was transported to the hospital, unconscious. The passenger was found deceased in the vehicle," said Harris County Sheriff's Deputy G. Chelette. "A white male, and a white female, in the pickup -- they were both transported to the hospital."

Three outbound lanes of the Northwest Freeway were closed during the police investigation.
