Series of thefts on METRO buses

Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Metro Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect or suspects who are stealing from METRO. During the past few weeks a series of thefts have occurred on METRO buses. Someone has been going to the back of METRO buses and getting access to the METRO Q Fare Card recharger, stealing money from the machines.

This has occurred on several routes throughout the Houston area. Anyone who has any information on these crimes or who might have seen some one tampering with the METRO Q Fare Card recharger on their bus is urged to call Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, charging or arrest of any suspect in this case. Tips can also be sent by text message -- Text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.
