Driver slams into SW Houston shoe store

HOUSTON The accident happened in the parking lot of a strip center along the Southwest Freeway at Gessner at about 5pm. A driver apparently hit another car in the parking lot, then smashed through the plate glass windows of a Shoe Carnival. Her car ended up completely inside the store.

The driver apparently suffered a head injury and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. There was no one in the first car that she struck. There are no reports of any injuries inside the store.

A police investigation is underway, and a considerable clean up effort.
