HISD sued over two separate drowning deaths

HOUSTON The suits were filed against HISD on Friday. One stems from the death of 17-year-old Vincent Agwuoke. He died in April 2008 after jumping into the pool at Westside High School. He couldn't swim and his parents allege there was no policy in place to make sure people were safe in the water.

In the other suit, the parents of a nine-year-old girl who drowned in an elementary school pool claim the district had no protocol around the water for children with speech and hearing disabilities. The little girl was hearing impaired.
