Report blames two guards for inmate escape

HOUSTON /*Arcade Comeaux*/ used a smuggled gun to escape during a prison transfer in November. The report says the two prison guards violated state policy by failing to use their weapons to stop Comeaux, and for giving up their weapons, money, cell phones and a uniform during the escape.

The report also says guards at the Estelle Unit failed to strip search Comeaux and search his wheel chair.

Five corrections officers lost their jobs over the escape.
