Officials hope shoppers saw hit and run driver

HOUSTON Crime Stoppers and HPD Hit and Run Investigators are seeking the public's assistance with any information on the hit and run on Sunday, February 7 that resulted in the death of Tabarras Gibbs.

Around 12:45am, Gibbs was on foot near the entrance ramp to the West Sam Houston Parkway South. He was in the 9200 block on the southbound side of the freeway when he ran across the entrance ramp. As he was running across the ramp he was hit by a red Honda Civic. The car stopped briefly but left Gibbs in the street without offering him any assistance. Gibbs was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday, February 9.

The entrance ramp is directly across from a Walmart, so if anyone witnessed the crime or has any information about it they are urged to call Crime Stoppers.
