Police say they were called to the home around 3:15am. The wife told police she heard the door being kicked in and she got up to see what was going on. She says she then heard her husband scream. When she went back to the bedroom, her husband had been shot twice and was dead.
"At this point, it appears that the complainant was asleep, perhaps laying in bed sleeping when this shooting took place," said Detective Abbey with the Houston Police Department.
Police say that the couple lived in that home just about a year. Authorities don't have any suspect descriptions right now, nor do they have of any kind of getaway car.
