Crime Stoppers offers reward in murder cold case

Simone McNair was fatally shot back in August of 2008, and police need help to find the person who killed her.

Houston police and Crime Stoppers need help from the public to solve a murder case that's a year-and-a-half-old. Back on August 24, 2008, Simone McNair was on the balcony of her apartment in the 10,910 block of the Gulf Freeway talking on her phone. Witnesses told police that a man approached her and the two began to argue. Police say that's when the man fatally shot McNair in the head before leaving with her belongings, including her cell phone.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7" tall, about 165 to 175 pounds. He wore a black long-sleeved hoodie, long blue jean shorts, and black tennis shoes. Police say the suspect shot at one of the witnesses as he fled the scene.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 tips hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and/or charging of the any of the suspects in this case.
