Firefighters busy battling different fires

Arson investigators were called to two separate, suspicious fires overnight. The first fire broke out around 12:45am at a home on Herschell at the East Loop. Firefighters quickly got the fire knocked down, but not before flames burned the entire back half of the house.

The home did not have power or gas, so arson teams are looking into it.

About an hour later, Houston firefighters were called to a home off Triola and Sandstone in southwest Houston. They found heavy fire coming from the back of a one-story home. Most of the flames were in the garage.

The house had a foreclosure sign in the front yard. Arson investigators are working to find out how this fire started.
