Prairie View A&M student stabbed on campus

A Prairie View A&M student is recovering after a violent incident Monday night. Following Monday night's men's basketball game, a PVAMU student was stabbed inside the William 'Billy' J. Nicks, Sr. Fieldhouse. According to school officials, the male student was taken by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he is currently listed as stable.

Today, a first-year student reportedly confirmed his involvement in the incident. The matter is being investigated by university police.

A statement from school officials stated, "As a University, our primary responsibility concerns the safety and well being of our students. We will continue to monitor the health of the hospitalized student."
