Three students injured in school bus crash

HOUSTON It happened just before 7am Monday on T.C. Jester near Hugh. Three students were taken to the hospital.

Spring ISD police say the driver a of a green Toyota Camry pulled out into the intersection right in front of a school bus to make a left turn. The bus driver apparently couldn't stop in time, striking the Camry. The force was so great the car spun and ended up facing the opposite direction on Hugh Road.

Three students who were on the bus were taken to Methodist Hospital in Willowbrook with minor injuries. The rest of those students were transferred to another school bus. None of the four people in the Camry were hurt.

We spoke with one resident who lives near where the accident happened and she says it was just a matter of time before something like this happened out here.

"The kids seemed OK. There were a couple of them that were shaken up a bit. But the bus driver she was pretty shaken up," said Latoya Rice. "He (her husband) said, not too long ago, that he was wondering when a car was gonna come through because this is a pretty fast-paced intersection."

The bus was on its way Wunsche Senior High school, which is a campus for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
