Secret Service arrests two for alleged counterfeiting

HOUSTON According to the Harris County District Attorney's office, Secret Service got a tip from a confidential informant that counterfeit money was being made by the suspect and 'customers' were buying the fake money. The tipster was given $250 in real money and went to the Red Roof Inn at 2960 W. Sam Houston Parkway to buy $1,000.

The tipster reportedly met with Lashondra Dyer, 27, and Ali Abdullah, 29, who were both promptly arrested by Secret Service agents.

Authorities say the pair took five dollar bills and turned them into $100 bills through a washing process and then printed them on a computer.

Dyer and Abdullah are scheduled to appear in court on January 27.
