Houston police shoot, kill man during search

HOUSTON Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva says police announced themselves as officers before they entered a house in northeast Houston about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Silva says a man living in the house pointed a shotgun at the officers and began yelling at them to "come and get him."

Silva says one officer fired and the man returned the fire. The man was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

None of the officers were injured.

Silva says drugs were found in the house. The man's name is not being released until the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office confirms his identity.
