HPD motorcycle officer injured in wreck

HOUSTON Just before 11am, an HPD motorcycle officer was westbound on Alabama at Spur 527 when he struck the back of a pickup that made a sudden stop. A third vehicle in front of the pickup apparently made a quick turn at the intersection.

Accident investigators went to the scene to try to determine if wet streets played a role in the accident. No tickets have been issued at this time.

The officer was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His name and condition are not being released at this time. No one else was injured.
