Arrest made in fatal Eastex Freeway shooting

HOUSTON A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of Royerick Washington, who's accused in the December 26 shooting of Sashe Gray Jones in the 15,700 block of the Eastex Freeway.

Police say Jones and a friend had left the Motion Night Club around 2:30am and were heading home on the Eastex Freeway southbound. That's when someone in a dark-colored vehicle reportedly started shooting into their vehicle, as well as two others. Jones, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was shot and later died at a nearby hospital.

A call came into the Crime Stoppers tip line with information that identified Washington as a suspect in this case. Homicide Investigators were able to arrest Washington on Monday. Authorities say he's admitted to his involvement in the crime.

Jones worked full-time while attending Lone Star College. She wanted to be a nurse.

Two juveniles who are also possible suspects are still at large.
