Panhandle cop faces felony solicitation charge

AMARILLO, TX Stacy Lavon Conway remains in the Potter County Jail in Amarillo on $50,000 bond Thursday. The 24-year-old officer allegedly recruited an undercover Amarillo police officer to break into and set fire to the home of two women, a dispatcher and a jailer for Randall County.

Jail records show Conway, who has been suspended without pay from the Hereford department, hasn't retained an attorney yet.

Randall County Criminal District Attorney James Farren says Conway was arrested Tuesday evening and faces a second-degree felony solicitation charge. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

She joined the Hereford department in September.
