Group needs volunteers to help those in need

HOUSTON Workers at the Harris County Guardianship Program are spending the day checking up on seniors. They're providing them with space heaters and blankets. Workers are encouraging families with older relatives who live alone to check in on them even if they don't want help.

"Maybe you can offer to come and visit them another day. Just understand that they are in the need of help and a lot of times they will not ask you for help. You might just have to extend yourself," said Virginia Stebbins with the Harris County Guardianship Program
