Some business owners had complained about the T-shirt, referring to a nearby neighborhood, that said: "Welcome to Pleasant Grove." The T-shirt featured an image of a man tossing a body into a car trunk.
Pleasant Grove pawnshop owner Joy Vosburg praised the mall action saying, "I don't think any city should be portrayed like that." She complained after noticing the T-shirts on sale a few days earlier.
Vosburg says the T-shirt perpetuates a violent stereotype of the Pleasant Grove neighborhood.
The Dallas Morning News reports the unidentified kiosk owner will be allowed to recover the property later from the mall.
