Houston to pay $3M to consultants to review fingerprints

That money will be paid to a team of consultants. They'll be looking at nearly 5,000 violent crime cases from the past two years, plus a backlog of other cases. HPD's fingerprint lab came under fire after an audit found that examiners failed to accurately analyze prints on evidence, and sometimes missed them altogether.
