Burned baby's death under investigation

PORT ARTHUR, TX Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam says Jashawn Keller suffered severe heat exposure and thermal burns.

Port Arthur police say the death of a 7-week-old boy has been ruled a homicide. Gillam says portions of the child's skin peeled.

Emergency personnel Tuesday night received a call about an unresponsive infant. Gillam says by the time he arrived the baby was already in an ambulance, where the JP pronounced the child dead.

Gillam told KFDM-TV that a humidifier had been placed in a car seat set up in the infant's room.
