A south Texas district clerk, who's also a congressman's daughter, says she will fight in court her charge of drunken driving. Hidalgo County District Clerk Laura Hinojosa was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Johnny Hernandez tells The Monitor of McAllen that a state trooper stopped Hinojosa around 1 a.m. Sunday in San Juan.

The 43-year-old daughter of U.S. Rep. Ruben Hinojosa was booked and released from the Hidalgo County Jail later Sunday after she refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

Laura Hinojosa had recently started her campaign for a second term.
